Therapeutic massage is scientifically based intentional touch and is a collaborative process. I bring my knowledge of muscle and bone and movement, strokes and techniques from all over the world and presence, intuition and a focus on listening to your body and you bring your desires, goals, experiences and preferences. Together, we create a session that serves to help you open to new experiences of healing, presence and freedom. Together, we work to provide you with a sense of harmony and balance, freedom from tension patterns, both old and new, and a gestalt of wholeness and connection. Based on a deep understanding of anatomy and pathology and skill in multiple advanced techniques, each session is uniquely designed for your specific needs and goals. This depth of knowledge and experience gives me the ability to work with you, even if you would normally not be able to receive massage, and gives me the tools to work with your physician to create a treatment plan that fits you. Each session is a work of art, created by you and me together.
Fibromyalgia Massage is designed to support you as your manage your daily activities. Based on recent research and knowledge of many techniques, the session is gentle and specific to create the most lasting relief. Session length is shorter to prevent stiffness, and soothing to decrease discomfort and support nervous system changes that can last. Session relief can be cumulative, so improvement may continue through multiple sessions.
Focused Shoulder Massage is designed to reduce pain, stiffness and decreased movement from a number of different causes, and to promote healing of injuries. The session is developed from a strong understanding of the anatomy of the shoulder, how it should work and what is preventing it from working most effectively. Together, we create a plan to regain freedom of movement and freedom from pain. The session lasts approximately 90 minutes and can create profound changes in one session.
Focused “forward head posture” also known as “text or computer neck” massage is designed to relieve the body discomfort which comes from our forward head, sitting at a desk or driving posture so common in our culture. This posture can lead to many complaints, including headaches, back and neck pain, sore throat, difficulty taking deep breaths and even difficulty swallowing, but especially upper and mid back pain and discomfort. Using a strong understanding or anatomy and a variety of techniques, this massage can help relieve these complaints and give back the ease and comfort to move through daily activities.
